Who doesn’t love a good life hack? Well, at Ignitro, we make it our mission to find business hacks that we can use to keep our team motivated, efficient, and having fun. And since we are all proud web development nerds, we thought we’d share our favorite business tools that will improve efficiency, communication, and productivity of your team.

  • FocusList

FocusList is an app designed to help you focus on your work more deeply using the Pomodoro technique. What is the Pomodoro technique? Let us tell you. It’s actually an Italian word for tomato and is based on the idea that you should only work within the window of optimal productivity.

Essentially, you choose a task, set a 25-minute timer, and work until the time is up. hen, you take a five-minute break and get back to work. We’ve found it’s an excellent way for our employees to break down complex projects in a way that is gamified through goal-setting and that allows them to eliminate distractions. • Udemy

Udemy.com is a low-cost app designed to help you and your employees learn any skill fast. The app gives you access to high-quality training content and access to actual instructors. With more than 180,000 online video courses, it’s easy to study new skills and equip your employees with the knowledge they need to continue growing.

We love it because it gives our employees a chance to expand their skill set in a number of areas including design, marketing, IT and software, photography, and music. That means they can take courses that benefit our customers while also gaining new skills that help them grow personally. Who doesn’t want a web developer who understands IT and can play the piano?!

  • AwesomeScreenShot

This one is all about improving our workflow. This free AwesomeScreenshot app (there’s also a paid version) is a great way to pass information along between developers and capture any bugs in the web development process. The app allows you to record your screen and camera, annotate screenshots, and easily send snapshots through Slack, Asana, Trello, etc.

With more of our employees working from home off and on, it’s hugely beneficial to make it as easy to share information as possible. With this simple app, our employees can share information between themselves and our clients. It’s a win-win.

Our team loves using apps and testing new ways to grow our skills, keep us productive, and improve our day-to-day interactions with each other and our clients. There are so many great apps out there just waiting to be discovered. Don’t be afraid to test some out with your team!
